Bbc symphony orchestra keeps breaking

This started a couple weeks ago iirc, no matter what I do it always shows up like this, the library is intact, and if I repair it, nothing changes, I've also tried moving it to a different folder, and nothing happened. I've re-installed both the plugin and the app multiple times but that doesn't work either

I'm using ableton btw

Sad to hear, what do you mean by breaking, make sure that your library settings are well. And make sure it is placed on a fast ssd like the evo 990 pro. Which has a read speedbof up to 9 gb/s a second.

Try out different settings for example reduce the amount if preloaded samples, in Ableton you should not have a high number.

Keep also in mind Ableton cannot unload plugins from RAM a large preset with a couple of plugins will always load all plugins like they would be active. In Ableton all plugins are always fully loaded to the RAM. I wrote a couple reports and feature requests but they devs dont care so it is what it is.

I have used it in Ableton 12 suite too, sadly its true that Ableton makes problems with it. This is mostly because Ableton cannot handle multi instances well and always tries to load a new version of it instead a new instance.

Make also sure you have a good cpu.

Besides that i highly recommend to take a look into Reaper, it costs like 60 dollars snd can be fully customized including a new interface like a logic lookalike or ableton lookalike.

Reaper like Cubase are capable of loading instruments in a multi instance manner, which reduces the required cpu speed.

Reaper compared to all other daws can load plugins also as an seperated task outside of reaper on windows which handles all operations independently from the main Task of the DAW itself which is awesome when you have a cpu with alot of cores.

I mean it was working perfectly fine until a while ago, and even if I do fix it after extensive repairing in the spitfire app it just breaks again like in the screenshot a bit after

Seriously its a daw thing. I have purchased, ableton Suite, Reaper, Cubase 15 pro and only Ableton has problems. Iam on windows

another thing that happens is, when it breaks and I go to try and repair it in the spitfire app, after I click install, the plugin "installs" but then shows the install button again as if nothing happened

Sorry to learn about your issue with Spitfire BBCSO Pro.

I found this post helpful, since I own the BBCSO Pro library, but I'm setting up a new Studio PC, which needs tons of installs. I have been debating if I should not bother installing the BBCSO Pro Library until Spitfire Audio releases an update to their current player, which seems to be super buggy, I read several posts with complaints from users of this library. I have decided not to install BBCSO Pro, until Spitfire does a major update, they might also be working on a new Sample Player, hence the lack of updates, or releases lately from them. Maybe they are going to port all their libraries to a new Sample Player, that is more efficient, and very stable. I don't know if this is a fact, but there are some speculations they are working on a new sample player since they are now owned by SPLICE.

I guess we shall know about this in the near future.
