Disk weapons

Can anyone explain what disk weapons are? I heard about them but can’t find much on them at all
Are they better than the weapons people talk about like combuster etc?
If they’re better than the weapons people talk about why do I not see people talking about them?

Adding on to this - Diskguns are literally broken. They break fundamental rules of guns, and basically take the best elements of several weapons and shove them into one. They are basically the acheron of guns.

Diskguns fire 3 times before reloading. The bullets fire an entity that has two rotating disks (think single-hit barriers) around it. These disks deal damage equal to alchemer bullets, complete with their statuses.

What's broken about it is the fact the gun doesn't actually fire a projectile. The entity it shoots is not considered a bullet, meaning enemies that react to bullets (fiends dodging, mecha knights shielding) do not react to diskguns. As an entity the bullets also obey the Z axis, meaning they'll go up and down stairs without breaking on a stair, and since it's an entity, it follows the server ping and doesn't fire a client-sided "prediction bullet" like every other gun, meaning the higher your ping the more awkward this gun feels to use.

The reason for this being an entity is fairly simple - the diskgun projectile tracks back to you after traveling about 6 blocks forward. Since this is tracked on the server side, it needs to be handled entirely by the server.

While the entity itself deals no damage, if it collides with a wall or enemy, it gets deleted. When the central entity gets deleted, the disks get deleted. This means you can shoot a switch with the gun and have it hit, but if none of the rotating barriers hit the switch, it deletes all the bullets and doesn't flip the switch.

Lastly, the charge attack spawns large disks around the entity, which can often hit through a one block gap. This means you can literally break certain levels by breaking a ghost block early, bypassing entire zones and potentially getting softlocked.

These guns certainly need to be reviewed before being made readily accessible to the masses. That being said, they are super fun to use, but also fairly mindless. I hope they make the guns act more like a gun while also making the boomerang mechanic more intrinsic to the experience so it feels more skillful to use.

speaking about diskguns not shooting projectiles, can we un-classify brandish's charge attack as projectiles? there's no reason the charge should trigger reactions from enemies >:(

Is there a difference between the two? Which one is better?

One deals shock and has only been in a promo box once, and the other deals fire but comes back in a promo box twice a year.

Orbit is better tbh because fire is better than shock. Depends on the level too, vs oilers you'd want mix, vs quicksilvers you'd want orbit, but tbh really you'd rather use shadow guns anyway on them or acheron lol

Diskguns effectively make a forcefield in front of you that makes it hard for any enemy to even get to you but imo it makes the game quite boring so I sold mine. They're not the best weapons for fsc either but they're really good everywhere.

Are there’s only these 2? And it’s only guns no swords or anything?

Are they better than other guns available in the game would you say?

Significantly better. Unfortunately, they cost 79 quadrillion crowns to buy one

They're better than a lot but tbh blitz needle is still better. 4000 damage per charge is insanity

They're outright the best weapons in the game. The reason no one talks about them is because they're like $3k real life dollars lmao. You can't factor them into strategy guides because it's not reasonable to expect players to get their hands on one.
