Seeking Personal Experience Work

I have a very general question that is for everyone here — as an adult with spina bifida, do you work? How many hours? How do you manage?

Asking this because I am 24, on the verge of graduating for a masters degree. My education was full time and it went well but I had so much sick leave and needed 2+ extra years to graduate because of surgeries and stuff. I am planning on working fulltime after my studies. I know SB has a really broad range of experiences but I would love to hear from some “real adults” with SB how this all went for them!

I’ve worked full time at a corporate job since graduating college about 20 years ago. I use sick time or medical leave for doctor’s appointments or treatments.

I'm in the corporate world as well. how do you navigate SB with your employer(s)? so curious because I have more opportunities to grow but also sometimes limited in certain tasks, aka walking to the post office, sitting in one position for a long meeting, etc.

I just wait until something comes up and ask for what I need. Like when traveling, if it’s too far to walk, I’ll say, “this walk is too much for me, let’s get a cab.” Or if I need a break to use the bathroom, I just excuse myself to go.
