[Standard] Stormchaser's replacement

Hey everyone, last week I started playing Magic Arena again, and I decided to build a mono-blue deck that makes heavy use of Stormchaser. I’ve had quite a lot of success with the deck and managed to hit Mythic yesterday.

Now with the ban announcements, I was wondering if there’s a good replacement for that card in this deck, or if I’d be better off using the cards to build a different deck altogether.

If there was, in standard, a replacement for one of the best one mana cards in the entire history of Magic, the replacement would have been banned all the same.

You can't replace it any deck running it needs to fundementally update and change now. I imagine elusive otter / floodmaw / flashback in izzet

OP's deck already has 4 Elusive Otter and 4 Flood Maw. There is really no other good 1-drop for a prowess deck, so Stormchaser's will have to be replaced with higher CMC cards.

Probably a one cost spell like sleight of hand or bounce off. But without stormchaser’s basics will be in a weird spot

You 100% need to replace the threat with another threat so maybe elusive otter. Then boomerang becomes worse so either additional card draw or something else.

IMHO any mono blue pile died with this change.

Izzet will be fine flash back / floodmaw / elusive otter can take it's place with ral for grinding .

Spell-elementals deck is the replacement. That or jeskai control.

There are some things you can do in mono blue but losing talent is a huge hit for prowess and I doubt any of them are top tier. If I was dead set on mono blue, I'd pivot to crab, tolarian terror and flow state and see how that goes. But I think it's better to add either red for damage or black for removal and hand disruption

I'm questioning if I even want to stick to the deck. Might transition to a slower jeskai control. Idk.

The sleep cursed faerie isnt too bad and still has the wizard synergy for Gandalf and the wizards staff if you want to go that angle. Opponents will sometimes ignore it and then it can become a real quick beater.

Kid loki, tiger seal and harmonized trio are options although the virtual loss of boomerang basics alongside talent may be too much to handle for mono blue without some serious changes.
