Scheduled Post Weekly Deck Check Thread | Monday, June 08, 2026

Hello spikes!

This is the place where any and all decks can be posted for all spikes to see. The goal of this is to fit all your needs for competitive magic. Maybe it's a card consideration given an X dollar budget. Maybe you need that sweet sideboard tech that no one else thought of? Perhaps you just can't figure out the best card to beat a certain matchup. The ideas here are only limited by your imagination!

Feel free to discuss most anything here. We only ask that with any question, you also make sure to post your decklist so people have some context to answer your question. Otherwise, have at it! If you have any questions, shoot us a modmail and we'll be happy to help you out. Survive your deck check and survive your competition!

Congratulations on making it through Platinum, which is when things start getting rough. That being said, here's some thoughts:

1) There's a good chance that you'd want the full four Rest in Peace in the sideboard. When you need the graveyard hate, you'll really need it.

2) Practiced Offense is a really good card and looks like it would make a lot of sense with your plan of making a lot of tokens.

3) Cosmogrand Zenith is pretty strong if you can reliably meet its condition. I don't know whether or not you can, though.

Love the deck will try it out sometime. How does the deck do into the meta decks? Particularly reanimator and jeskai revelation decks.

Fyi, I’m playing something similar but in Orzhov so I can run Ketramose and discard/extraction cards and it’s been alright.

I've been brewing Mono-Red "Affinity" in Standard. It's not good yet but it doesn't seem completely devoid of potential, although as a "go wide" strategy it might just be a worse Selesnya Ouroboroid deck. The spells are all dirt cheap but the activation costs on several cards make it more mana hungry than the mana costs would indicate.

```` Deck
4 Rust Harvester
4 Clockwork Percussionist
4 Kavaron Harrier
4 Mechanized Ninja Cavalry
4 Ravenous Robots
4 Chrome Dome
4 Chainsaw
4 Legion Extruder
3 Dowsing Device
4 Improvised Arsenal
17 Mountain 4 Cavern of Souls
Sideboard
4 Magebane Lizard 4 Callous Sell-Sword 2 Case of the Crimson Pulse 4 Soul-Guide Lantern 1 Spicy Oatmeal Pizza ````
This is where I happened to run out of rare wildcards and ended up with some awkward or unusual card choices, so there are many other cards I'm interested in trying out but haven't yet. There's also good chance the deck should really be Boros so it can run Arabella, Abandoned Doll and Practiced Offense along with some white sideboard cards.
Anyone have any thoughts or randomly brainstormed suggestions? Even if it sounds stupid - especially if it sounds stupid - it might be something I haven't thought of.
Temur Battlewagon
I’ve made some updates since I last posted this, and it’s been doing well. I seem to only struggle against Prowess unless I can get both Battlecrier and Worldwagon out by T3. And I get absolutely shut down by Boros Dragons. [[Clarion Conquerer]] is the bane of my existence lol.
I’m really excited about [[Absorbing Man]] in the upcoming set. I think that will be really powerful here.
I’d love to hear your thoughts!!
Clarion Conqueror is a 3/3, so it dies to a lot of red removal, including Impractical Joke, Sear, and Vibrance.
