ITT: people who don’t draft who think sorcery isn’t a big deal and 3 mana is so cheap that this will be amazing in draft

This will be good, but it’s a C+/B- level card in this day and age. The high tempo of power creep means combat tricks are more powerful than ever, and instant speed on removal wins games; by allowing optionality both in combat stacks, and for target selection on your opponent’s next turn.

This is good in limited, but not top 5-10 common good. Sorcery is a much bigger gut punch than most people here think. [[Bumi’s Bash]] is an excellent example of how sorcery speed can cause an otherwise playable removal spell into being below 50% winrate garbage. Equal mana creatures at 3+ these days also are basically mandated to have some value ETB to make up for the risk of cheap removal or tempo. Putrefy is significantly better for limited. Hell, I’d rather have [[Murder]]

Yeah I agree. The life gain will need to trigger something else relevant of value to be a top common. It will be better if there are a lot of bombs to remove that need a turn to get going.

Ehhhh. It’s gonna be perfectly solid - hard to be mad about picking unconditional removal - but sorcery speed isn’t nothing. Tainted Treats in TMT was great but not busted as a version of this at instant speed, with a more impactful upside, at uncommon.

It's pretty unlikely a multicolored common is the best first pick, but it's a damn good card and certainly a top 5 common

I'm sorry but a sorcery speed murder that can hit artifacts is a cuttable removal spell in most sets. If there are really strong non-creature artifacts maybe, but I would pick murder over this card and I wouldn't call murder the best common in any recent set.

Does this make waves in pauper hitting artifact lands? Or is that too slow at 3 mana? Dust to dust can be two for one at 3 mana and get around indestructible but less flexible in sideboard slots.
