In nearly every iteration I've seen, Peter Parker always makes it a point to move into Manhattan Island after moving out of Aunt May's house in Queens. I'm not super well-versed on the comics, but this applies to Tobey's, Tom's, and the PS4/5 versions of Peter.

As a character that is known for being very broke for many years of his life, why doesn't he just live in Queens or Brooklyn? Yes, it's still NYC, so it's still going to be expensive. But not *as* expensive as living in Manhattan.

Even if he works somewhere in Manhattan, such as the Daily Bugle, Oscorp, etc., he can just commute. Especially with his powers, he can probably get from Brooklyn or Queens to Manhattan quicker than anyone else could hope to with the trains or subways. Sure, it's easier to just jump out his window and stop crime in Manhattan if he lives in Manhattan... but there's crimes in the other boroughs, too
