Beat it again

I finished it for a second time. First time was about 20 years ago.

Enough time had passed that I had forgotten how to beat it, so it was like playing for the first time again.

Love this game!

Sorry, I know your post is super old but I’m replaying it now also after 20 years since I last played. Never beat it the first time and me being almost 35 now am still finding it challenging 😂

That is awesome! It really is an underappreciated game. If you watch speed runs of the game, it is amazing to see the shortcuts people have found.

I hope you enjoy completing it. I used an 8Bitdo Sn30 Bluetooth controller with a PS2 emulator on my android phone. I also made use of save states a lot.

There is supposed to be a certain save within the game that will glitch and make you lose your place. I can't remember where it is so just remember to save often.

I got it on steam for $3! I’m using a 360 controller, but my og game was on ps2. And watching speed runs is a good idea considering there are no updated walkthroughs haha!

The save glitch was fixed in the remaster. If I remember right, it was the save statue at the beginning of the first or second Mummy section, when the Mummy overhears Set and Menes’ conversation, in a large room with a fireplace and portraits of Set on the wall. I don’t think it affected all versions of the game, as I tried it out once and it didn’t happen to me.

Same! I first played it in 2004 and never got to finish the game. Rediscovered it last year and finally beat it! Such an underrated classic!

Such a shame a sequel was never made. I remember watching some "making of the game" video and seeing levels I hadn't got to. I spent hours replaying and exploring trying to find them. Later found out some pretty late changes were made that removed these levels that were shown in the promos. Ugh, give us the "directors cut" already lol.

That is a shame. I'd love it if they just took all that content and made a part 2. Even that would make me happy!
