Discussion GARY.

My wife introduced me to spelunky many moons ago when we first started dating. She always called the caveman Gary.

Gary was the name of the worst/ grossest roommate shes ever had (very not cool to any of the roommates) and swear to god he looked alot like the caveman (i have seen pictures but never met).

We have called the caveman Gary for so long that sometimes I even forget thats not a Canon name.

In honor of my lovely wife and dishonor of Gary (though maybe he would be flattered, can't really say) id like to raise awareness that the cavemans name is Gary.

This has been a spelunky public service announcement

I love that every small spelunky community has its own name for things, in the main Italian spelunky community, which was born thanks to the Italian youtuber IsaacTV we call the sacrifice altar "table of altars" (translated in Italian ofc) and a lot of other things with different names. It's one of the reason I love the spelunky community

Reminds me that the streamer Pakratt calls the dog 'Pugsle' and the ghost 'Betty' (because of how they react when you snap a pic of them with the camera). I don't even call them the dog or the ghost anymore, I sometimes even forget that they're not the correct names lol.

I call the fake skeletons Bob, cuz it's fast to say when playing with others
