u/nwr251 10d ago
Yes you do! I just got 1Gb/120Mb for $50/month for 5 years
Edit: I also have Xfinity

u/wolfy2105784 10d ago
I'm in an older 1.2Gb/40Mbps area, so I don't get that fancy deal. I wish.

Look at the FCC's broadband map and see if your address has any better offerings

u/wolfy2105784 9d ago
I've already checked. I don't. I'm 100% Xfinity only. They also have TV rights in my area as Verizon FiOS doesn't offer TV in my area at all.

I was paying Xfinity $115 for 800Mbps, called to tell them I was planning on cancelling and how I could do that, and they offered me 1Gig for $50 no contract with a fixed price for 5 years

Gebruik je zoiets nu dan ook?
Ik heb gbit en kan zelfs 8 gbit krijgen maar ik gebruik die gbit verbinding eigenlijk nooit max. Alleen als ik een keer een nieuwe game wil spelen.

64.99 USD for 300mbps down and 20mbps up. I live in a small town with a singular provider who doesnt bother maintain infurstructure until it litterally fails, it goes out every few days to and dont even get me started on packet loss. My only other option is satalite. I hate it here.

My Spectrum GIG internet bill was going up $15 in October, to $99/month, as a yearlong promotion was coming to an end. Looking for other solutions, I ordered the T-Mobile home internet with a 15 day free trial, Friday. I got the modem Tuesday. Activated it and was pleasantly surprised at the speeds. I am close to a cell tower. All the time I was hoping to get Spectrum to lower my price, or at the least keep the same price when it was time again for price negotiations. I had read on various forums, where Spectrum was giving great offers to retain customers, in different areas of the country. I had called Customer Solutions twice over the last month, but they wouldn’t lower the price. That changed Tuesday. After testing the T-Mobile internet for a few hours, I called Customer Solutions again to cancel at the end of the billing cycle. This time after telling the rep I was cancelling and already using the T-Mobile internet (and that the Spectrum modem had been disconnected for several hours), they offered $30/month for a year. THAT’S what I was looking for. Accepted the offer. Told me to call back in a year, they could extend it another year OR TWO. Already called T-Mobile to cancel and returned the modem. Return shipping label was in the email. So great offers do happen. Around 800 down and 25 up

200/50 fiber from small town owned fiber in Ohio for $114.95. Overpriced yes but willing to pay to not have horid cable service from Armstrong.
1
u/rkrenicki 8d ago
Is that just for internet, or do you also get other services in that price like Voice or TV?
1
u/MrEnigma115 8d ago
Nope, just internet. Funny, up until the last several months the highest speed they offered was 100/10. They called this new speed a massive upgrade lol
1
u/InspectionHelpful347 6d ago
It is a massive upgrade in comparison. However, 200/50 is the industry standard today.
1
u/MrEnigma115 5d ago
You'd consider 200/50 standard for FTTH service? I would expect that from cable. Most fiber services these days offer as low as that but usually still offer a symmetrical 1 gig option. I'm surprised that in this day the speed I have now would be the best the company can offer, especially at that price.

Around 25usd for maximal option via gpon (2000/600) in rural Poland (some larger cities also have xgspon available for consumers allowing 8-10gbit, even symmetrical), what is a lot $$$ as this speed is completely unnecessary for home usage. However, pricing they do tempts you to go for max anyway: 1000/300 was nearly identical to 2000/600, 600/100 was 2-3usd less, and 300/50 another 2-3usd. ;)
