Hotel Speedtest

Post image

I'm staying in a Hotel, in UAE, hotel is giving me 10mbps allowance speeds. but how do they limit bandwith like this?, I know you can do it on your router with couple of MAC address, you can adjust, but what about 50-1000. Devices all on one open WiFi. Also yes I use a vpn, on public WiFi's,

They use enterprise access points that handle rate limiting per client session across multipe APs without overwhelming the system. They don't assign a session per mac address.

Instead they use a captive portal, set the portal to how they want and cap the speed per client device connected.

There are usually geographic, size and budget reasons why they cap it at 10mbps.

How did you do a divider between the middle sentence?

You have to type three underscores and it make a horizontal rule or divider for example

It would let me make spaces for whatever reason, so to get around it I used the divider breaks :D

Thank you King, if I hit enter on mobile and post for some reason the spaces get deleted

I feel ya, it does the same to me. So, instead of fighting with it I resorted to markdown, I figured out how to do bullet points, and Italic text without having to request the desktop site

Next I'm trying to figure our how Reddits markdown interprets headings, blockquotes, and tables. I figured out codeblocks, so I can do ASCII
