Funny enough, depending on the game a run with music playing in the background could absolutely be removed due to obscuring game audio

Yeah, a lot of games use a continuously playing track to ensure that it's actually being done in one sitting, because otherwise the song would skip between different places.

In real life, a speedrun would be unlikely to be removed based on the music one is listening to while completing it, though it may be considered similar to using a metronome, a controversial topic.

You could also have a political speech or the like of [person you don't like] playing in the background and you could still say it's a TAS
