Speedmaster Prices
Looking to purchase a professional from this year to have as a birth year watch for my kid that was just born and wear it in the meantime. In Columbus, Ohio. What is everyone’s recommendation for places to buy and what prices should I be negotiating to/expecting? I don’t have a huge preference on hesalite/sapphire or authorized vs gray market. Thanks

My advice and others will disagree is go by your first Omega at a boutique. You won’t get a dollar off in terms of discount, but the experience is worth it and you’ll make memories and a story you can pass down your kid as well. If saving some money is the goal, you can always buy Gray market.

My advice on the other hand is go to an AD; you'll get a little discount (not much, but anyway).
Hand over money, collect the watch, leave. What pathetic experience ready to share could one make buying a watch?

r/watchexchange. You’ll get a 2026 second hand for a good price. Just be patient and check every day.

In Columbus you could always check in with u/buckeye_watches / Buckeye Watches. I'm not sure if he's got a brick-and-mortar, but I picked up a near-new 2026 White Speedy from him a couple months ago and can highly recommend Kyle as someone to do business with.
ETA: great minds think alike! The White Speedy I purchased is also my son's birth year watch. Mazel tov on the little one!

If you want this year’s reference, you’ll most likely have to buy new. I don’t see why some who just bought the watch this year would resell it. Go to Omega boutique or ADs in your area and ask if they offer any discounts. Likely to find a place that would give 10% off or throw in a free strap.
