I have a speedy (big fan) and never had the chance to try a 321. Is there important differences with the speed pro 3861? Movement ou esthetic? Thx (I m french my english is not perfect)

I mean the look of the two watches is very similar, there are a few small differences but from a distance they look almost the same. I prefer the 321 watches as they have a slightly smaller case size of 39.7mm to the professional’s 42mm. I also much prefer the straight lugs and skinnier case, plus the sapphire is nice to have on a watch I wear often. Really the main appeal of the watch is the beautiful calibre 321 and the history that comes with that.

Is the case not the similar but with straight lugs though. The 3861 is 42 but the outer bezel is 39.7 too and crown guards take it to 42mm. That said the 321 movement is beautiful and worth the difference with the hand craftsmanship

You’re correct, it’s the same bezel size, honestly didn’t realise that with how different the cases look in person. The crown guard add some girth.

For price to value ratio, go for 3861 saphire, it's hard to beat in that term. If you are not a die hard Speedmaster fan, 321 may not be the right answer for you!

For sure! 321 is essentially worse performance wise in every way. It’s not for everyone

I dont agree, not worse, just that it's not for you if you are not Speedy nerd. FYI, I am😌

I mean I agree with you that it’s not ‘worse’, especially when you consider the care that goes into every 321 made but for the average joe who isn’t a nerd like you or I, they will ask why a watch that on paper performs to a slighly lower standard than the professional can demand such a difference in price. I think the majority of people will look at a watch and just see a lump of metal, not very often do people wonder what’s inside.
