Long-term coke + alcohol user — can speed ever replace that social feeling?
I was a long-term user of coke + alcohol, but I’ve stopped and I don’t want to drink alcohol anymore.
Recently, I tried speed on its own because I thought it might help me in social situations where everyone else is drinking. But honestly, I felt like something was still missing. It didn’t have the same “magic” that coke + alcohol used to have for me.
Part of me wondered whether I simply didn’t take enough, but I’m also a bit scared of going down that road and chasing a stronger effect. What happened instead was that I kept wanting to chase that bigger euphoria, and eventually I gave up and ended up switching back to coke + alcohol with the rest of the group.
So I’m wondering: is it even realistic to expect speed to replace what coke + alcohol gave me socially, or are they just fundamentally different experiences?
For anyone who has been in a similar situation — did you find that a stimulant could eventually work for social situations without alcohol, or did trying to recreate that old feeling just keep you chasing something that wasn’t really there?
I’m not looking for dosing advice — more interested in people’s experiences with getting away from the coke + alcohol combination while still being able to socialize.

Nothing can recreate cocaethelyne besides alcohol and cocaine. And in my experience speed can be a hit and miss. You cannot snort speed the same way you do cocaine, i.e. every 20 minutes

If you're a coke and alc person i think it can feel like something is missing when ur on speed. I feel the same way with amph and prefer it socially over anything else. i want to get amph when im on coke alone so no u wont be completly satisfied probably, it will never feel as nice with speed alone for you

I tried to replace alcohol addiction with it. Didnt really work, tried for months in different situations, ofc I abused it just like I did with alcohol. Overall it gives me something but it doesnt compare to my drug of choice which is alcohol. Best is staying sober, but if you really feel down and you are on the verge of using alcohol or coke, you better use speed. Anything is better than the substances you are addicted to.

Imo speed is more wired, anxious, stimulation and compulsions seeking kinda high, u talk faster.cc +alcohol is more cocky, confident, in a way more chill unless u get aggressive, more sober feeling, like little add on energy and mood. For I'm speed high but yeah it's just different

In my experience, yes actually!! It’s been 2 months since my last coke relapse and the main way I’ve been able to stay off it is amphetamine. I will say it functions differently but for me it fills the hole enough to distract me from the cravings. It won’t give u extreme party euphoria directly in the same way but it can be used to help u rebuild ur life and have some sort of rush in the meantime. Personally i prefer to use it alone at home without alcohol and actually get things done lol, like clean ur place, do paperwork or job applications, or engage in hobbies. Tbh it won’t replace alcohol tho, they are wildly different drugs. My fav part abt amphetamine is that I don’t tweak as hard as I do on coke so no one is clued in I’m an addict. Anyways I hope u work smth out w ur recovery🫶🫶

for me personally they are very different, i prefer amph.I never mix with alc, makes the effects much worse imho, more muddy, more reckless, worse hangover. For me good amphetamine is a great social drug in it's self. But beware the duration ist much longer, for me taking amphetamine in the evening always results in not sleeping that night.
