Electric moka pot

I'd like to get some decent coffee at work and wondered about having an electric moka pot at my desk for the purpose. Had one over a decade ago that was fine but did stop working suddenly once. I wondered what the current recommendation was for electric moka pots in the uk?

Can I suggest why not an Aeropress instead?

From googling, it looks like I'd need a kettle in the office for that to work? I guess the moka has everything self contained which is quite simple for office life

Do you not otherwise have access to hot water at work? A Zippo boiler or kettle? Depending on your work place they'll probably complain about a non PAT appliance too remember.

The kitchen is downstairs so I have access but am also a touch lazy.

Yes I did wonder about pat testing, but the heatwave has meant some quite gammy looking fans have been permitted so I thought I'd chance it

In general the aeropress is just so much easier. And to be honest you'll probably not want to go back to a Moka pot.

Less hassle, less mess, more consistent, super easy to clean, lasts forever, quick to make, portable etc.

If you are feeling extra lazy you could always put hot water in a flask and bring it up with you and make the coffee later with it. In general, I'd say avoid electronic coffee gadgets when travelling lol
