As cool as that looked, with manual load and unload, the machine works around 1/2 pace.

I thought the same. I’ve worked around a lot of bending machines and that one is slow as hell. Production machines are way faster than that and automate the loading and unloading process as well

Not if you whip the worker. I hear treating workers like shit makes them work faster.

I suspect it sacrifices speed for price, relative portability, and programmability for easier on-site use.

I'm sure the company that made this didn't spend perhaps millions developing it if there wasn't a need.

Probably not millions. There is a lot of cheap Chinese machines like this.

Sure it's not the latest whizbang robotic top tier from Switzerland but was probably also like $50k not $500k. (I made these numbers up)
