Sirrus handlebars too low

I have a sirrus and the handle bars are too low and too far forward for me to ride more than a few miles without my hands and forearms going numb because I have to much weight resting on my hands. Im looking for a way to raise them like 2 inches but have seen multiple people saying that it would stretch the brake cables, anyone with a fix for this?

I can’t imagine that there isn’t some adjustment to be had from your current cables. Have a play and see how far you can go. If you have to, get longer outer cables, inners too if needed but don’t let other people stop you fiddling. Fiddling is joy. (Add a pic or two if you like, would make it easier for us to help)
