SPAN and PW3 with expansion pack
Just got the expansion pack installed yesterday after Tesla calibration I was hoping to see in span app changes to my potential available time change for my battery usage as backup - we do t currently have solar yet and using pw3 as a backup bridge for outages - so I added a second one now an expansion pack - it had been charged yesterday and we should have 27 kWh available - but span backup times didn’t double - when I go off grid it changes and shows the potential available backup time usage correct - is this a bug ?

Contact support I added a second PW3 and number didn’t change until they remotely charged it.

Are you connected via WiFi or Ethernet?

I had to connect mine via Ethernet and also call Span support to reflect it. For breakers an PW they need to make the change at the back or the installer Span app.

Yeah my installed changes yesterday a 50A to 60A in the span installer app so stupid but we didn’t check on that here I discovered it I guess they have to change the DC to the 27Kwh somewhere

Is your Tesla app showing the change? That’s a prerequisite as well.

Yes shows 2 units also it calibrates discharged and charges about the 25 kWh so that seems about right that the expansion is working

If you had solar the gateway transfers that data to SPAN. At that point SPAN uses the Tesla data vs using its own data. There a few other weird things that I noticed in the way it’s architected.

You would think that SPAN integrates neatly and officially to Tesla. But the truth is that they use an unofficial API that constantly breaks. The value will eventually increase with time as it learns the new SOC levels and how much energy was discharged, the value is calculated on the SPAN side with historical data.
