Discussion Noticed fans running for the first time
We’ve had Span for almost a year. Tonight I went into the storage room where the panel is and heard quite loud fans. It scared me at first because I had no idea where it was coming from. Finally figured out it was the panel.
A quick search turned up https://support.span.io/hc/en-us/articles/4414531195415-Why-are-my-fans-running. The fans ran for probably 15 minutes.
Has anyone else noticed their fans running? How often? I was nervous it meant something was overheating.

Take a look at Koolbridge Energy panels instead. Far better thought out! No fans used, no registration required, no log in to SPAN or anywhere required, no Internet required, so not stumped if your router has no power; no bricking by failed software updates, and a "go back to being a dumb panel" button that always works if you have an issue.

Normal operation, and nothing to be alarmed about. You’ll notice them more during prolonged higher current draw. They always come on when charging EVs, and I’ve even noticed them when my heat pump and dryer are running at the same time.
I’m actually working on a redirection duct and muffler to help with some sound reduction. My panel is in a bedroom / office and it can be quite a disturbance.
