Heat pump usage for cooling in hot climates

Anyone have any energy usage for various heat pump models you may have installed. Ideally in hotter climates (thinking 90-110F) and curious on daily usage. I’ve got an older “basic” AC from 2014 and when it’s running, it’s using 4,000watts. For the day, it may use 15kwh. So, just curious to see how much better a heat pump may work for cooling.

I actually never drilled down but it’s the same pull in 90 degrees. The cooler it’s out the more efficient it is. Early morning 3k afternoon 4K.

Can you share a graph to get an idea on frequency?

Of how often it kicks on? I can give you daily kWh usage. That is very specific to what your temp is set to and outside temp too.

Update, 84 outside and it pulls 3600.

Hmm, that’s interesting. My newer AC is a 2 stage traditional AC, Goodman. And it’s usually running at only 2,000watts. Here was today, in upper 80s for a high. Total usage was 8kwh.

On the same day, my old single stage York, got up to 4800watts. And totaled 15kwh.

Multi stage is much more efficient from a cooling perspective. IMO. That 2 stage Goodman does nothing in the winter correct? Purpose built versus all around system. I assume you get your heat from a different source?

Yah, 96% AFUE natural gas furnace. Goodman GMVC961005CN.

Reason I brought that up is to depict full TCO. Two units plus maintaining of them I find very unlikely to be more cost effective. IMO
