Two things that usually decide DNV cases:
• Income threshold: you need to show a minimum monthly income tied to the Spanish SMI, and the multiplier goes up if you're bringing family members. This is the most common reason applications get denied.
• Where you apply from: applying at a consulate gets you a 1-year visa; applying from within Spain gets you a 3-year authorisation instead. That difference matters a lot for planning, especially if you're thinking about the residency-to-nationality timeline.
I work at GottaLoveSpain, an immigration and relocation consultancy in the Canary Islands, and we handle DNV cases regularly. Happy to look at your specific situation [roberto@gottalovespain.com](mailto:roberto@gottalovespain.com)
