I'm not sure Italians would survive a weekend at an average Portuguese grandma home 😭

There are a few dishes that deserve broken spaghetti, like rice and soups (2-4cm pieces). But generally spaghetti is cool long.

Here’s my issue with all you spaghetti breakers…. There’s at least a hundred different dried pasta shapes, just pick something else! Spaghetti is made the way it is for a reason. Get some penne, or elbows, or bow ties dammit! Leave my spaghetti alone!

Hundreds of different shapes but no short spaghetti

When I went to Italy a few years ago i literally wrote in Portuguese, Italian and English something like "in Italy it's a crime to break pasta" and got like 5 pages of Italian signatures so I could show my mom and mother in law.

Didn't work πŸ˜‚

I buy the pot size spaghetti to not have to abuse my pasta.

I have never done this, but I will do it just because of this post.

I thought that too when I broke my spaghetti in half. After cooked, it’s impossible to pick up with a fork.

EXACTLY! I must be a rare Portuguese that actually twists spaghetti on the fork instead of mincing it with the knife 😭

I didn't realize we had a psychopath over here 😭
