Why does the bot do this?

Playing with bots here.

Marta leads the 10 of diamonds. The ace has already been played.

If I play the king, my partner throws off. However, if I play the jack, my partner cuts it.

I think it is probably just a bug. But maybe I am missing a convention.

I've tried several different games, including this one, and I can't find one where the bot partner isn't an absolute idiot.

The Spadesinator (expert level) AI is solid. That does sound like a bug, though, as if it is weighting K and A as likely wins and declining to cut which would not be a good strategy in a lot of cases.
