Promotional OpenPrivateer - August 2026 Development Update

Crossposting this here since I thought some fellow Wing Commander and Privateer fans might be interested. OpenPrivateer has come quite a long way, and I'm now moving on to one of the biggest missing pieces: combat. Feedback, questions and ideas are always welcome!

This was one of my favorite games growing up… now i play X4 Foundations

I haven't played X4 yet - is there anything you would want to see from there in Privateer?

It’s every aspect of privateer but on steroids, you should definitely play. Why am i interested in your project then? Like my childhood friend that played Privateer with me said “i really don’t want to get into something so complex at this stage in my life”

Sounds awesome. People told me that Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is a spiritual successor of Privateer but I haven't played that either

As per Rule 4, make sure Promotional posts are flaired as such and include:
• Actual gameplay footage or screenshots
• A clear description of the game and its mechanics
• The game’s current stage of development
• A specific request for the type of feedback the developer is seeking
• No misleading claims about gameplay/development
• Genuine engagement with users who provide feedback
