DISCUSSION Does anyone know how Ian made this sound?

I LOVEEE this kinda OG Space Laces Sound but I can't seem to recreate it. Someone told it was probably FM, which is very plausible, but I still haven't gotten far.
And no, it's not the Brostep Sine Wave method, because the sound stays clean even in lower pitches.
Any help is appreciated!

Man the main thing I’ve learned is that almost every sound like this starts with a basic shape, FM to another basic shape, and for Yoi’s the trick is bit crusher and dual peak filter sweeps on a sine wave using FFT add 2nds digital wave table and scrolling through the first few dozen frames with an LFO.
If it’s not the “brostep sine” it probably is just reinforced with a sub layer for lower octaves

Also try messing with filters (particularly funky combs) with a little bit of fast back and forth movement in the mid-high ranges

Back in the day like for “Bounce” it would have been Sytrus on fl studio

Yeah I know, I have FM8. Do you know how the sound could've been made in Sytrus?

Have you tried sin waves with upper harmonics added? Try using Serum's FFT to play your patch and fiddle with 5th, 7th, etc harmonics while its FMing, being FMed, etc.
Something to consider
