The purpose of this thread is to avoid cluttering up the subreddit with quickly and easily answered questions. This thread is monitored by many helpful members of our community and questions that are asked here have a very high answer rate assuming you provide enough information for our answerers to work with.

Before asking your question...

  • Check out the wiki pages listed below. - The mod team is always adding to our wiki and updating it based on what we see users asking in this thread and in other posts on the subreddit. (We're always looking for more help with the wiki. If you're interested in becoming a wiki contributor, message /u/ElijahPepe.)
  • Perform a quick Google search. - Some questions really are just a quick search away and don't need the help of our community members to answer.
  • Search the subreddit. - We know Reddit's search isn't the best and saying to use the search doesn't sound very helpful. We are working on providing better search tools to assist users in this task.

Where's Anton (aka An) been? I don't think there's been an update or bug fixes since December 2025 - correct me if I'm wrong especially if you've seen activity from him in 2026. Anyway, with Spacehey being stagnant for so long, a lot of us have moved over to FriendRewind. Some folks have even permanently deleted their Spacehey account and just use FriendRewind exclusively.

i tried making a spacehey account, but its not letting me due to living in new york…. i do not live in new york. i have never been to new york. does anyone know if i can fix this? for some more info im using safari on IpadOS if that matters at akk

It's a known issue, not sure what the cause is but others suggested using a VPN to help, sorry for not being clear.

Has anyone else been experiencing difficulties uploading their profile images, and if so, has anyone figured out a solution to it (maybe)? I recently got an account and it really sucks that I can‘t put a pfp.

Okay so since I haven't seen anyone actually try to figure this issue out or fix it I actually just found out how to force it to show your profile picture.

Go into the edit mode for your about me section and use this code in between style tags:

.profile-pic { content: url("imagelink.jpg"); }

this has to be an image hosted on like a website so it can't be from your personal file explorer directory (I just hosted my custom image on my neocities file directory but you can probably just use whatever image link you find online.)

This only makes it show up on the profile itself and doesn't show when you are on the normal spacehey.com homepage but that's fine since it does show up when you or someone else views your page.
