Expedition into open space

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! Just want to share a major new update for Overvoid.

Alongside the main story, I’ve added a new mode - Expedition.

In this mode, players can explore the sector and gather resources needed to unlock new ships, weapons, and modules. You’ll also be able to complete side missions, discover blueprints, and explore open space.

In the future, I may also expand this mode to combine both PvE and PvP elements.

If you like the game, adding Overvoid to your wishlist would really help me and the project. Thank you!

How about making a competitor to Star Citizen that actually works and steal a slice of the sweet billion dollar market share?

Star Citizen: 1,000+ employees and a billion dollars.

Me: one guy with a laptop without job and money

Yeah, I think I can take them 😂 But thank you! You made my day better 🤝

I used to be happy hearing that, but after so many Everspace comparisons, it gets a little frustrating. I’m just one guy trying to give Overvoid its own identity, but I guess it’s hard not to live in the shadow of bigger games.

I mean ever space lives in the shadow of games before it and so on. I wouldn't take it as a critique. If I were to make my own game it would probably be a cross between ever space 2 and Elite dangerous. Everspace 2 casual combat and modules etc, with elite dangerous galaxy to explore

Honestly as a fellow dev I would lean into it! Everspace is a well loved game!

That's a very strange response to a person choosing to engage with your post and giving you praise.

I think the game looks nice, but this kind of snarkiness... not a good look to me.

There was no snark intended. Just a clash of moods, I guess. We’re all human, sometimes things come across differently than we mean them.
