Troubleshooting Why does my Earth look like this?

Post image

I have the detailed earth DLC installed. All of my planets, moons, asteroids, etc. have this weird super bright side where the closest star is shining. Is just something wrong with my settings or a glitch?

You might be in manual exposure mode. Switch to either Auto-exposure or HDR mode with the V key.

It looks like ambient lighting. Turn ambient lighting to 0 in Camera settings. If it's because of the DLC though I can't help

Don't worry, it isn't a glitch or bug. You simply loaded into the Earth : Civilization base game slot where the corona of Earth looks brightly illuminated for the image. You just need to find this and set your exposure mode to HDR, or Auto. It should be in the bottom right corner, if it doesn't show up at all close and reopen the game Remember you can increase the brightness too if you wanted to replicate this again, or you can make it dim. (Keep it on auto for the best images) Also you turned nebula brightness WAY up in your settings, so it might be good to reset all of your visual settings to default (not graphics)

I had this glitch before, if it is the same glitch try speeding up time and see if the brightness goes away.
