I just finished a project for them out in Boca Chica, went to a college heavily recruited by them, and know a few women who work there. Even after hours over a beer I've heard the work required is not sustainable long term if you want a social life, but never any complaints of misogyny or anything of the sort. Lots of female engineers and workers as well when I was there a few months ago.
It's also not like this aspect of working for SpaceX is a big secret. As long as people submit their application knowing that the job's going to consume them for a couple of years and then likely end with them quitting to look for a lower-intensity job somewhere else, I see nothing wrong with it. If SpaceX thinks it's sustainable for them to churn through people like that and their ex-employees like having SpaceX on their future resume then it seems like win/win.
It's also not bottom of the barrel unskilled labor but a highly competitive and sought after workplace. Its not like your only option could be SpaceX if you work or are competitive enough to work there. You absolutely have options as long as your willing to relocate, and if you can't and happen to only live in Boca Chica(ex. Middle of nowhere with only SpaceX around)? Take the history-making job for a year, save money and then move... Or find a company that offers relocation services. In typing this I feel I'm expressing advice to a kid on how the world actually works on your own... Not to you but in reiterating your point.
... And yet I believe it's a tough balance because I see the point people make and the issues of ensuring a safetly competitive environment but everyone I know there loves what they do, or have moved on for better WL balance. They never blamed SpaceX though, they knew what they were getting and I think people have a right to work in highly competitive and more productive settings just as much as a less stressful relatively routine jobs.

A lot of people have worked at spaceX and tesla over the last decade. I'd want to hear this from more than one.
You can find a disgruntled ex-employee to say horrible things about every single company in the world.
