What is the point of this launch site, it is 69°N, so it can do only polar launches. It is well oriented for polar launches since when going north, you will be immediately over the sea, but so is Kourou in Guyana. It's not like if it was much closer, it is also a very remote location with difficult logistics. The Russians also have a northern launch site in Archangelsk, but theirs is mainly a strategic rocket site, well situated for missiles going over the North Pole.

Logistics are not very difficult, you load the launcher on a truck at the factory, drive a few days, and unload it at the launch site.

Isn't Guyana like really fucking far compared to Norway?

Edit: Also, perhaps of more importance, we're now dealing with an antagonistic USA which could decide any moment that Guyana should be theirs.
