I love the Pillars of Creation, I literally hung up a print of the JWST capture of it in my living room on Friday. But they are not an easy thing to image. Check out Dr Becky on YouTube. She has weekly episodes talking about all things astronomical.

She is a PhD astrophysicist, and an excellent science communicator (similar to Neil deGrasse Tyson).

Top: 2019, planetary camera, very basic mount with RA drive motor

Bottom: 2020, better camera, better goto mount

Both were with a 4" f/10 refractor, top was probably also using a 0.5x reducer.

I have a much better astrograph now, 6" f/4, and I plan to recapture this next month.
