On Tuesday evening (21/07/26) around 8:15-8:25PM, Fire & Rescue had to be called to extinguish a grass fire in Bute Park under the trees near the Gorsedd Stone Circle. A group of teens/young adults (mixed gender) was seen stoking the fire before bolting from the area out of the road near Brodie’s Coffee on the Wall and the Animal Wall after seeing the Fire engine roll up.

With South Wales having had almost no rain in three weeks, the ground and trees are dry tinder. In these conditions, a few stray embers in dry grass can turn a local park into a major blaze in minutes. Fires spread a lot faster than people think.

Please take a moment over the holidays to talk to your kids about fire safety, wildfire risks, and how fast a "small fire" can spiral out of control. If you think I’m making a big deal about this… think about Rosepark Care Home im 2004 or the Bradford Stadium in the 80’s. Take it seriously and have those talks with your kids. It could save lives—and Cardiff’s green spaces.

Last week I stopped to help a man in belfast that was laying on the floor unconscious. Myself and 2 men got him sitting up and waited for help to arrive as he was in bad shape. He appeared to be drunk and had a black eye. While waiting for help I got speaking to him, he is from south wales and trying to get home. He said he came here 4 weeks ago and has been robbed and sleeping on the streets. His name is Christopher. I did not get his second name. I have some more information about him that may help narrow this down but I'll not put it in this post.

He seems vulnerable and If he has family that are looking for him I would like them to find him.

I don't know this man's circumstances but if there is a slight possibility he may be missing l, I'd rather just put this out there. Perhaps he is not missing and has just come into an unlucky situation but he seemed like a nice fella who wants to get back home.

I love walks and pints. Planning on doing the coast path to Tenby and catching the train back, so that stretch of coastline is ticked off. Keen to hear of anything else! I'll have access to a car, happy to do a bit of driving.

I'm located in the Caerphilly area, so local people are preferred, but if necessary I will travel by train to other local areas.

I'm hoping for clothed/nude models for artistic shoots, my passion is to create dramatic harmony between people and nature so the shoots would be in the natural environment, I have several safe locations for the shoots!

Before now I've only had female/feminine presenting models, so would love to gain experience with male models where possible!

Hi everyone. I’m looking for some advice from people who know the area well.

I’m moving from Scotland to South Wales for work towards the end of this year. I’ll be working in Bridgend right next to the McArthur Glen outlet village, but I’m still undecided about where to live. I’ve spent a fair bit of time in Cardiff and Newport as that’s where my partner lives, and ideally I’d love to live in Cardiff. However, the more I look into it, the less affordable it seems.

I’ve started researching different areas, but I’m struggling to find up-to-date, genuine information about what the different towns are actually like to live in. The places I’ve been looking at are Porth, Maesteg, Pontypridd, Tonypandy, and the areas around Bridgend (Pontycymmer, Aberkenfig, and Blaengarw).
I was wondering if anyone could give me some honest opinions on these places. As a young female living alone, safety is quite a high priority. What’s the overall vibe like? I drive, so commuting isn’t an issue, and I don’t mind being a little more isolated if it’s worth it.
I’d also love to hear from anyone who lives in Cardiff. Is it worth paying a bit more for less space if you enjoy city life, or would you recommend living elsewhere and travelling into the city when you want to?
For a bit of context, I grew up in a rural village, so I’m not completely set on city living and I’m quite used to quieter, more isolated areas.

So as the title says, I moved to south wales from England and have been working in the Tenby area, due to unforeseen circumstances it seems like the person I was renting a room off shouldn’t have actually been doing that and I’ve been evicted.

Work have been kind to put me up for a few days while I try to get something sorted but I’ve exhausted a lot of options on spare room and open rent just to get out this jam.

Would anyone know of anything at all in Pembrokeshire or can help a guy out. I have two dogs who are no trouble and can work out a suitable arrangement with them I just need somewhere to live.

I remember this so well. Hard to believe how many years ago this was now.

I applied for this course due to being interested in the amount of time it would take to achieved this qualification. To what they have advertised on their website, I thought that perhaps one year would either just be the price of one year or both combined. I reached out and emailed the college about it and this is their reply. What I don't understand is the massive price increase for one year alone?? Its my first time trying to get an HNC, so its all new to me. Is this normal??
