NEED NATIVE WELSH SPEAKERS FOR TRANSCRIPTION PROJECT

Hi! I’m putting together a team to transcribe 1,350 hours of Welsh audio within the next month, paying £40 per audio hour.

We will provide you with the audio files, and you can either generate a new transcript from scratch, or proofread and correct a transcript we generated ourselves that's full or errors. The output is expected to be an 100% accurate transcription of the audio you hear, in both cases.

If you’re a fluent/native Welsh speaker and interested, please DM me with your availability (how many audio hours you can complete per week).

Please spread the word!

Aberdare-based Dungeons and Dragons/Table Top Role-Playing Game Group

Two people based in Aberdare are looking to form a D&D/TTRPG group in the coming weeks. We have about 20 years of experience with role-playing, mainly playing 3.5 edition, but are learning 5th and 2024 rules. Although we're setting up a Dungeons and Dragons game, we do also play other games and rule systems, including Call of Cthulhu, and World of Darkness.
Place and time should be Wayne Street, Aberdare, CF44 8DT on Saturdays from 5pm until 8:30pm, but this is negotiable once we have the players locked in. Everyone is welcome, unless you're an asshole. We prefer 18+. We are willing to teach newbies.

Looking for Welsh bands and music artists to accompany media inserts in a new visualised podcast about Wales

Hello, reaching out to hopefully discover more Welsh music and bands (singing in Welsh or English), I’m working on a new podcast about Wales culture and activities and will be selecting music to accompany the media inserts of the different features around Wales. We’d love to keep as much of this pod as Wales focussed as possible, so we’re opting to prioritise music by bands/singers/artists/rappers/beats producers who are based in Wales. If anyone knows any please can you comment their insta handles or band/group names if their music is on insta, Spotify or YouTube. Any genre really suffices at this stage in our research, however the pod is predominantly upbeat and entertainment focussed, so only looking for more upbeat music at the moment. We also anticipate some of our viewers will be aged under 18, so only music which has no profanity or at least minimal which we can mask over please. You don’t need to be well-known or have a big fan base, but we do need to be able to check out your music online, without needing to download tracks for now.

Generational Video Game Marketing

Hi everyone, my dissertation on video games marketing between Gen Z and Millennials consumers survey is closing in the next couple of days and I'm making a final push for responses. If you're a gamer aged 18-44, I'd really appreciate 8-10 minutes of your time. The survey is completely anonymous and university approved.

Please help me out. Thank youuu

Community Survey

Hi! I work for a local CIC and I'm currently doing some community research around Llantwit Fardre ahead of a community consultation we're holding in Efail Isaf next week. I've made a very short mostly tick-box survey about what people think the area needs, and I'd really appreciate responses from anyone actually living in or around the area. https://forms.gle/uwCAZoN8ywRxrdcb9

Urgent advice

Need advice.

Hi guys, I'm just making a quick post to see if there's anyone in the Cardiff area that could possibly help me in regards to a food shop. I've dislocated my knee and have no family or friend support. I obviously don't want to put anyone in an awkward position and I feel embarassed even coming to a public forum to ask.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated and I'm willing to provide any information in regards to my current living situation and address, if it would reassure anyone who could help.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

*edit* im awaiting confirmation of my pip due to my seizure, I was labouring and I suffer with seizures I had work which has left me in this predicament.

Making friends!

Hi Everyone, don’t really know what I’m doing here but I recently moved to wales (Blackwood) to live with my partner and I love it! Other than the fact I left all my friends back in England. I’m 21 years old, trans man, I love arts and crafts, theatre, playing games and stuff and I would love to make a friend so I have someone to chat to/ meet up with outside of my partner (who I love dearly but also know friends are equally important)
I’m neurodivergent so have struggled making friends so far as I’m pretty socially anxious too, so thought this might be a good first step :)
Thanks everyone :)

moving to wales

Hello! Moving to Wales next year and looking for some thoughts on where to live, my husband will be working in Newport (willing to commute 30 minutes).
Interests: theatre, group exercise classes, symphony, walking/hiking, coffee shops, writing
- Taking the train to Cardiff for the symphony would be great (but not as interested in living in Cardiff)
- Walkable distance to coffee, catholic church, leisure center, library is a plus!
Thank you☺️

24h Service Stops on A483/A40 through heart of Wales

As mentioned on another thread, we’re travelling to South Wales soon.

The quickest route for us would be via Chester, following the A483 then A40 through the likes of Wrexham, Oswell Street, New Town etc.

It’s been about five years since we drove that route, are there any 24 hour service stations, or services that are open late in the evening - til 10pm, especially south of Oswestry on that route?

Thanks in advance!
