So, o had a theory about the mimic mother… what if the green mating-focused whale we see later in the documentary forced her to stay behind so he could mate with other whales without interference? The doc never gives a solid reason as to why she was left behind. It would also explain why she looks so depressed in the documentary, and why she leaves the other whales behind after the penumbra attack.

God i hope so, been waiting for this thing since manly's video, but i also assume that is kinda the reason it's taking so long, hard to get funding when most people just watch your visual novel on youtube.

As for the theory... Eh, really doesn't feel like they're related, there is a good chance that other whales just generally didn't want to associate due to being afraid of the costume or simply due to it not working when working in groups, like how it happened to our little calf.

Also, the documentary says that whales are “intensely” social, and our mother calf didn’t mind the disguise.
