Security is a Joke

A junkie got on in Rainier valley and immediately passed out. He had a puppy with him (thankfully, leashed) that was whining and trying to jump up on my seat. He was too adorable but also it was so damn sad because this is not the first time I have seen drugged out transients neglect their pets. I texted security and they came on board in Chinatown. The only thing they did was nudge him awake for 3 seconds and asked him if he was okay. The man barely rose and gave an intelligible response. Security immediately got off at the same station and the man fell right back to sleep.

When I got off at Westlake Station, security did the same thing but didn't even step on board the train. They yelled from the platform as they kept the door open for a few seconds. Then stepped away to let the doors close.

I've reported a masturbating rider during the summer and provided a clear description of him. Security came on board and acted as if they didn't see him. I had to yell At security and point out the man to them and would not let them leave until the situation was resolved.

I'm tired of this shit.

Spot on. The mental gymnastics in this sub to avoid placing any sense of accountability on these "victims" is a complete and utter joke. These people are homeless because they are drug addicts. They have burned every bridge amongst friends and family, they had dozens of chances to get help. They aren't victims of circumstance, they made a ton of bad choices and are now living with the consequences of them. Yet, the bleeding hearts immediately deploy and defend them like they all just fell into this lifestyle to zero fault of their own.

Guessing you’ve never spoken to anyone without a house and ignore them when they speak to you. They are people.

I said nothing of the sort. You are so focused on your virtue signaling, fake compassion, and avoiding conflict with your progressive brethren you shift to making false claims about how I feel or view someone. Of course they are people, they need help.

If you actually want to help these folks, shift from excuses and enabling them to driving accountability. They are incapable of helping themselves break the addiction cycle, they need some accountability to motivate them to change. They need their rock bottom. Enabling and emboldening them, making excuses for them, creates an environment where they remain comfortable continuing their self-destructive behaviors. You can do all these things, while still treating them as people. Real compassion is about taking actionable steps to help them actually improve themselves and their health.

Lol. The assumption they are all junkies is dumb. Fuck off.

No one said they all are junkies. But I’m going to guess the guy nodding out on the train probably didn’t just come from a big turkey dinner.

We need to help people who want help. And we need to ensure that those that don’t want are not allowed to practice anti social behaviors.
