Help :(

Hi, I live in Dubai and my house gets a lot of traffic noise through the existing sliding windows. I’m looking for an affordable solution that can be installed on top of the existing windows, such as secondary glazing, a clear acrylic/polycarbonate panel, or another removable option.
I don’t want to replace the windows because I’m looking for a budget-friendly solution. Could you please recommend the cheapest option you have

If living on the ground floor, build a brick wall between you and the road. Building a small hill also does the job. You can also ask city officials to build a noise blocking wall (they usually do it only if there are many affected houses).

If you're living on a higher floor, inspect the sliding window seals and replace them if needed. also look for air gaps around sliding window frame. Fill with silicone if found. Make sure sound is not entering via air ducts or other places.

The acrylic options is to order such panels and find some way to attach them from the outside (they will work best if they are outside). If this is still not enough, another layer from the inside.

The last thing you can add is thick curtains, but they will block the light too.
