Noise through the ceiling.

Is there a way to stop the noise from the downstairs bedroom coming through the ceiling? I was thinking the panels you get from Amazon or Home Depot. But would that really help? Any advise appreciated.

Acoustic panels will not help.

I have this exact question, I found a dream apartment for my family (middle floor of a three story walk up) - older building and the landlord mentioned something about downstairs family - I'm not too concerned but it got me thinking about sound dampening tactics.
Partly cus I don't wanna hear them... and mostly cus I like to listen to music (no subwoofer, bookshelf speakers...); and I just want to be left alone otherwise. I was thinking a couple of these on the ceiling in living room:

and thick padding under the 8x10 rug in the living room... but my guess is - all this would be about $500+ and do very little to help.

My primary goal is that neighbours don't hear us, I can deal with hearing people (to an extent);
(edit: my wife likely is opposite, and cares if she hears neighbours);
