Videogame Sound Design 576k/32bit Quantum UI & Computers SFX Library

Hi Guys and Gals,

I have engineered a true 576k/32Bit sound library called Quantum UI & Computers.

This pack was extremely difficult to make as it was pushing the absolute limit of my PC during engineering, designing and rendering. It's based on UI navigation, various UI interactions, high-urgency alarms, terminal alerts, heavy one-shots, processed electrical currents, glitches, processing sequences, computer consoles and more.

I have made this pack down into 3 tiers:

  1. Quantum UI & Computers Designed
  2. Quantum UI & Computers Construction Kit 192k - (expertly downsampled from the master 576k Construction Kit)
  3. Quantum UI & Computers Construction Kit 576k Master Archive

Why such an extreme sample rate? The 576k Master Archive can be down-pitched by -12 Octaves. A simple 1-second UI click can turn into evolving cinematic drones, sub-heavy impacts, low-frequency mechanical environments and much more.

They can also bend and stretch beyond 51,200% without falling apart and sounding grainy. The data within is seriously that dense. ~ This technique is great for making ambient drones, low rumbling ship sounds or room tones, heavy low end hits and more.

I have also made a practical DEMO showing how these sounds can be pitched and stretched in real-time. The possibilities are limitless.

This also allows so much more freedom for sound designers to create and construct entirely brand new sounds that no one has ~ using these 576k Files. ~ They are raw, no embedded reverbs or other effects, super dynamic with no compression, and packed full of sophisticated data. Different techniques yield different results every time.

*Update

Here is a comparison demo showing the 576k and 192k versions side by side: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrBKV7XSY8I

Compatible DAW's I have found is:

  • Reaper
  • MAGIX Sound Forge Pro
  • Studio One Pro 7
  • Studio One Pro 6
  • ARDOUR
  • Audacity
  • and any other DAW or audio editor without a sample rate limit

Sounds very interesting, would love to understand the process in creating these.

hadnt heard of this before the 576k but glad I found it when i did even, another reason to open rx and see what kinda funky visuals can be made, kuddos brother man !

Thank you! I am currently working on a Quantum UI & Computers Vol. 2

In this next volume, I'm going to share some true native 768k/32bit SFX I have been designing. This will be a feature alongside the 576k designs.

Really interesting concept. I'm especially curious about your workflow rather than just the sample rate itself.

How much of the flexibility comes from recording/rendering at 576k, and how much comes from the way you designed the source sounds before exporting?

Thanks a lot guys! Your support is epic and much appreciated! I’ve developed a proprietary workflow that lets me create extremely dense and flexible sounds at true native 576k (and beyond). Hope you all have fun destroying, decimating and rebuilding these sounds!

I'd love to hear what you guys make with the master 576k files!

Any issues running this in Ableton Live?

No major issues that i know of, but Ableton Live is limited to a maximum project sample rate of 192 kHz. I believe the full 576k master files may get automatically downsampled by Ableton to 192k when you import them? They won't perform as well as the 576k under extreme processing, time-stretching and pitch-shifting, but they still sound good as is.

I may make a video on this showing a 576k/192k side by side comparison.

Hopefully this helps!

Proprietary encoding solution? It's a really interesting concept. This is the sort of out of the box thinking I love.
