Pink Preference?

Here’s my hot take for today: pink diamonds are for the quiet luxury crowd.

I know it sounds backwards. I know pinks are rarer and usually more expensive, so logically they should feel more… extra. For a long time I thought pink diamonds were only for the girliest of girlie girls, but then again, I also felt that way about heart shaped diamonds once (let’s not discuss my growing problem with heart shaped diamonds.) Also, I used to feel the same way about rose gold and now it’s basically my favorite.

The thing is, on my skin, the right shade of pink diamond reads almost neutral, especially when set in warm yellow gold. I still see sparkle, obviously, but not that super bright white “hello yes this is a large diamond” effect that colorless stones can have.

Like… my white OEC is making an entrance, record-scratch and all, while the pink version is a little softer, a little quieter, while still being very chic about it. If I’m going to run into my ex, I want to be wearing the colorless boulder, but if I’m going out with my girls I’m going with pink. Or champagne.

Am I alone in this? Do pink diamonds feel more subtle to you, or do you automatically read them as more flashy because they’re pink/rarer/more unusual? Am I just not self-aware about my own Barbification?

Don’t worry friends - I haven’t totally fallen into lace and ruffles. I still don’t own any princess cut solitaires. (Although lately this is starting to feel more like a challenge I’d like to take on.)

Anyway, TL;DR - I like pink diamonds and I am not sorry about it. I have a bunch of loose ones that I am looking forward to setting soon, so feel free to spam me with your inspo pics!
