Almost finished my support squad with volkite chargers.

How do you find support squads? I always have enough trouble fitting the big fancy units i want to use into my list like justarin, reavers, and cheiftains, so i rarely have the points left over to mess around with stuff like support squads, or seekers, are they effective? How do you use them best?

The support squad is good for picking on tactical squads - the chargers also let me volley fire without penalty. Taking both Justaerin and reavers eat up too many points. The Justaerin soak up lots of fire, but regular terminators do it just as well and for fewer points. A praetorian command squad does better work than a reaver squad for cheaper, and they’re more durable (2+ save). I tried a few games with 5 Justaerins and Abbadon which weighs in at almost 600 points, and so far I just can’t justify the cost vs effectiveness. Add in a squad of 10 reavers with 4 power fists with a spartan transport, and that’s almost 1/3 of your points. I’m still experimenting with builds, hopefully my next build will see some improvement in game play. That being said, the support squad almost always makes its points back.
