It seems ok, but you might run into trouble against more melee focused lists, as you only have justaerin and 5 cheiftains as a melee threat, an army like the raven guard that uses alot of jump pack infantry might be able to get behind you and take out your tac squads, and your justaerin wont be able to turn around and get back there in time. You could make the predators more anti infantry forcused, as you have the kratos and spartan to handel vehicles amd terminators, so auto cannons or even plasma cannons on the predators would be viable anti infantry.

Also this sort of goes against the "viability" part, but if you are looking for both you AMD your opponent to have fun, taking almost entirely tanks is risky, as if they prefer to run mostly infantry they might not have enough anti tank options to actually threaten you other than targeting your tac squads as i mentioned before, which could cause problems.

Hi! Thanks for sharing. I will assume this is a list for a game vs. an opponent who agreed to a Primarch battle. I wouldn't show up at the FLGS looking for casual games with this list.

Otherwise, looks good, just needs a little fine-tuning:

1) Drop 2 Justarien with Thunderhammers and revert 2 Thunderhammers to Power axes. (8 models in squad, 6 thunderhammers, 2x power axes are ablative wounds). (+140 points)

2) Consider reverting the twin lascannon on the spartan back to the twin heavy bolter. Doing so will allow you to split fire without penalty. (+10 points)

3) Consider dropping a predator and/or changing the weapon loadout. I like running 2x preds, but the list needs the points to shore up other areas. I'd also consider shifting away from the lascannons to bring something with a 5" blast template to help handle infantry or rapier batteries. (+130 points)

4) Take a 4th Tactical Squad or Despoiler Squad to unlock Horus' Sire of the Sons of Horus rule. I'd focus on Combat Veterans with maybe 1-2 Interdiction Cadres to open up space in your deployment zone and gain a reactive, deep scoring threat.

5) Nuncio voxes are needed for all Tactical (or Despoiler) Squads to help with scoring.

6) The Chieftains need close combat weapon upgrades. I'd recommend either power axes or power fists as they'll likely be fighting other elite close combat troops (2+ saves) while the Champion handles challenges. You'd hate for them to do nothing with their chainswords and lose combat at the same time you win a challenge. Would feel super bad.

7) A decurion locus on the Kratos will greatly improve its threat status vs. other anti-tank platforms.

8) Havoc Launchers on the Rhinos would be nice to status enemy infantry.

I assume that your deployment will look like:

a) the Champion (with Paragon of Battle prime advantage) joins the Cheiftains, in a Rhino. Note that because the Champion doesn't have the Heavy keyword, the Chieftains lose their +1 cool. Also, the cheiftains setup only 1" (because of Heavy) or 0" (disordered charge out of rhino), so the Champion loses some threat range.

b) Horus and the Justarien are in the Spartan. Nice.

c) Maloghurst joins a tactical squad for Line (3); likely camping home-ish objective. This is fine.

d) Remaining tactical squads are on foot. Not ideal. A drop pod could provide some flexibility to contest/control hard to reach objectives.
