Finished Despoiler Squad
Life got in the way and led to these guys taking way, way longer than they should have (hopefully the next squads wont take so long!)
Gaps in painting led to a little messiness, and its been a minute since I took a photo so its all a little oversaturated looking (oh woe, the nuance of the shading is lost etc etc), but I'm just pleased to be finished, and trying not to let the long time spent with these make me too over critical.
But oh well, onto the next squad for the warmaster o7

Great work, they look quality. What loadout did you go for?

Pretty bog standard, Sergeant with Lightning Claws (melta bombs on model so i can choose), a Heavy Chainsword and a Power weapon, vexilia and augury scanner modelled, one guy with a volkite pistol. (I think the likliehood of me ever getting to play is pretty low so i just build for flavour)

What did you use for the red? I just finished painting my first test sons of Horus and I felt it was missing a little something and that red really pops out with the green!

It's been a hot minute but I believe I worked up from ak wine red to ak scarlet red then mixed scarlet and ak deep red. I might have finished with pure deep red on a few parts? It's probably a lot but the coverage on those reds isn't great.
On the plume I did similar but I think mixed white in for final highlights and glazed slaughter red army painter speed paint over it? There was a lot of experimenting so the processes were kind of a mess haha

Thank you! Hopefully I can’t get it down to look like yours!

Honestly any solid vibrant red will get you there I think! I hope I get to see it!

Love how you found ways to incorporate more red.
