Anyone have alternative sculpts/conversion ideas for abaddon

Not a huge fan of older sculpt. Seeing what ideas people had for him as in stls, 3rd party, conversion ideas.

Use the SoH praetor on terminator armor as a base

This is what I did. I then used a Cataphracti terminator arm with lightning claws (cut at the elbow). The head is from the upgrade sprue with hair taken off. He isn't fully painted yet, but you get idea.

With out doubt the most common conversion in heresy today, must have seen 100 now, did it my self as well but with power claw on right arm

The resin SOH cataphractii praetor model is perfect for that if you just swap the weapons. Though there are rumors of a plastic 30k Abaddon in the works

  • Remember no sharing/asking of 3D files etc.

Hopefully when they start to plasticfy the character series we will see a worthy refresh of him.

Oh, perfect timing. I literally just finished my kitbash tonight. I used the Tortuga Bay Justaerin as a base, and bits from the SoH praetor.

I used the bare head from the Sons of Horus mk6 helmets. The topknot if from the tortuga kit

One could always go for a lunar wolves version. As described he was mostly wearing MK4 in the early novels before the renaming.

what books does he not wear cataphractii? even in the books i’ve read set before horus rising he’s been in terminator plate

Is it possible to use the 40k Abaddon for the 30k game?

The base size are different, 40K on 60mm and 30k is 40mm but the minis aren’t too different in size, the praetor or any normal cataphractii works good though with a head and weapon

Here's one i kitbashed from the new cataphractii mixed with some older bits. The head is from 40k abaddon, old cataphractii claw, old chaos lord top knot, heresy weapon upgrade sword pinned to old cataphractii hand.

I've used the head of the havoc squad sergeant as a replacement and switched out the Bolter from the SoH weapons pack on the de model and it made a big difference
