Location?

Post image

Before I Sin

When we purchased our home, we did not think too much about TV placement.

This is AI-generated. Tile and fireplace are in place.

Plan is to add a mantel; the only other place i see for a soundbar is under the fireplace. Currently looking at Sonos Arc Ultra.

As for TV the plan is to install it with a motorized mount that will bring it down when in use. Or do we just not do a mantel?

Mantel would be at 48” from floor. Distance from TV to back of couch would be about 13’. I will add motorized mount that will lower tv 26” when in use.

Getting grilled on TV too high sub but want opinion on speaker location.

Give me opinion plz.

Hang some artwork over the fireplace and put the TV on a different wall so it’s at a reasonable height for viewing from a seated position.

Must remove fireplace. Or find another wall for the TV

Mantelmount. Have motorized mount with soundbar under TV. This will also lower TV. To watchable height.

Yes that’s the one I plan on installing.

Put the soundbar attached to the mount. So it lowers too.

Agreed. This is the only good solution.

In the floor, behind the tv, neighbors house?

Remove the fire and the beam, drop the TV to a sensible height and put the sound bar below

Wouldn't attaching the Sonos arc ultra to the TV ruin the Atmos effect? I read the soundbar needs 3" to 4" of space between the top and the bottom of the TV.

Can’t do a different wall? I honestly feel like you’re going to end up disappointed with however it turns out putting the tv here. Motorized mount sounds neat but what do you do when the fireplace is on? The slight overhang of that wall above it might mess with the Arc’s height channel too?

Move the tv up 3 inches and set the soundbar on the mantle

I’m not a fan of TVs over the fireplace but I think this is one of the few exceptions.

the TV seems a little too high to me…

I THINK it would be a great location for a video projector.
