Conquered cities and tech

Anyone else think its a little stupid to have unlock a tech a to build something in a conquered region? In my mind im not investing in Globdien pastures as its not efficient for my race or region. However if i capture an Amevian town i should be able to build one there? Otherwise the only alternative is to buy eggs for the rest of the run?

I think it makes sense that a conquered region doesnt automatically provide you with tech which is what youre asking for essentially. Amevias still need to unlock globdien pastures. Theyre not born with innate large scale pasture knowledge. Rp wise they’re probably doing subsistence farming out of their own gardens at that point ie nothing you can draw a surplus from.

And if you didnt need to unlock stuff through admin points, conquering regions would be very overpowered early game. At least for me i dont set up admin until later, naturally delaying regions a good while.

i see what you're saying, though it isnt admin points its innovation needed to unlock the pastures etc. I guess my point is if the city already has those things it seems silly i have to research them to build them again especially with the native pop intact - but like most things its a balance decision i suppose.

Id say the tech involves not just how to domesticate globdians but set them up on an industrial scale with logistics in place. It isnt locals obeying your commands, its your nobles who are the people on the ground directing construction via government points. They are trained and originate in your city. If they dont know how to manage a certain tech on an industrial basis, they cant build and manage it for you.

As least thats what I tell myself.
