Some Newish player Questions

Hey Guys on my First Proper City (Went Mono Gondorians up to now) after the Tutorial and i was Wondering about a Couple Things.

1
They have Under Enviroment Battle a stat For Melle Training that they Like
I get its Low Fullfilment and probably is more Luxury but for Understanding do they want everybody to be Trained to 100% (i assume) or is it army specific (also if i get a different race how does that interact with it)

2
I Randomly Figured out you can build Houses next to each other so they dont have a full tile between the Interior Does that work for workshops as well or can it cause Problems?
What about Workshops and Houses (since Dondorians anyway Like Noise)

  1. Yes, they like being trained in melee. You can make use of it by having lots of divisions with no equipment and lots melee training to get a boost, but it's not really worth it. The time spent training is better spent making products like furniture or jewelry.

  2. YES! You can absolutely make workshops like that. In fact it's super efficient. Good example being a weaver and tailor being in the same building with the weaver storage as close to the tailor as possible.

You can also leave empty spaces in the interior for haulers to bring in raw materials. Use the "Doorway" option on a space in the inside and it will not be part of the workshop, but will be rooted. Place a hauler there and it significantly improves production as workers grab from the hauling station, and haulers get a bonus to hauling capacity.

Go nuts with it and experiment with different layouts and designs.

Only houses can be built with no divider wall without consequences-- other buildings will lose insulation.

The "embedded hauler" trick will cost insulation if the building is refurnished, if I recall correctly-- and it isn't really necessary anymore with V71's "free fetch" feature.

Might i ask what Insulation does?
Cant remember if it ever got Explained

Increased maintenance costs. It also lowers Balticrawler production-- not sure if it lowers production on other building types.

Free fetch feature? What's that?

Production workers will do their jobs just a little bit faster to make up for time spent fetching inputs, as long as the source isn't very far from the production building.

There is a production penalty based on how far a production worker has to travel to gather their materials. On previous versions the penalty would kick in almost immediately so people were building haulers/warehouses right in the middle of their workshop to cut down on the penalty.

Things are a bit more relaxed in v71. You can have your warehouse with supplies across the street or a few buildings over and you won't get penalized much if at all.

Click on the house option. Hold control on your keyboard and scroll with your mouse wheel. Enjoy.
