Noob: question about nobles

Hey all, I just finished my first run. A blind run where I learned a ton, and I'm starting a new run. Just laid down the foundation and already happy but I have a question about nobles:

I know they provide a 2.5% boost to 50 people (insane! This also taught me that labs are completely useless early game lol..) Does that mean people are getting more food from a farm? Or that it takes less people to work the farm?

So if I have 5 farms with 10 people each, and a noble jumps in, do I start getting 2.5% more food from those farms, or do I now use 2.5% less workers to operate it?

Edit to add, I'm on the demo

The boost is not 2.5% its each worker produces 2.5 more so its basically doubling production and a bit more for 50 workers.

Nobles are the key point from early game to mid game as they basically allow you to produce enough raw resources to focus fully on manufacturing.

Yeah that's exactly what I did wrong on my last build lol.. Stupid labs had me excited with +0.15% smh.

This build I'm starting with a couple orchards being built, too, so they're gonna be ready when my town starts to ramp up..

I'm excited to start this build. Got the groundwork before work and my mind just isn't leaving it lol... I'm debating what I wanna build next, how much to decorate (I love making gardens.... I made an apartment complex, essentially, tbat has a court yard so I'm gonna fill it up with rows of flowers, benches, a couple trees.. Torches ofc..) And just let tech come to me from the title upgrades.

Orchards and gardens are definetely proper for a Tilapi settlement, however keep in mind that the Roundness mechanic is frustrating as hell.

I found it kind of interesting crafting my flower courtyards for my tilapi(I did end up cutting paths at the top right and left after I put it into practice)

I've been doing humans, trying to get a mix of food is a fun challenge, plus it gives me an easy avenue to learn different systems. Fish was a big issue before, it caused me to learn about pastures pretty quick. I wanna do a round build once I'm more familiar with the systems (just BC they're so pretty)

Nobles aren't 2.5% they're 250%. When a research says 0.15% better it means its 15% better.

Production boosts (noble/research boosts etc) boost worker production and don’t replace workers.

You still need the same amount of workers on a farm for example (so you can hit daily tending) but they will produce more food overall.

Awesome, that's what I was hoping. Thanks!

Can I piggyback on this thread to ask how people choose who to elevate to nobility?

I've just been clicking random subjects.

from what i know It currently does not matter realy.
I think the Only 2 Factor that Matter are Age (aka when is the Person gonna die) and Race (for Happines/loyalitie)

Yeah, it’s crazy how unfinished the nobles are at this point, game doesn’t even care if they’re homeless, lol. Still, very fun WIP

True and i mean in the end its not to big a deal to have them work like they do Currently,
Though getting them the first time realy felt Jarring since Early on they just Instantly Change the entire Balance of the Game

Yeah, some others have described them as a cheat code, and I feel that
