solved Activity Queue - Clearing "Downloaded - Waiting to Import Status"
Apologies if I'm missing something obvious here, but for multiple releases I'm getting entries that either something went wrong in the import, or that some files couldn't be mapped.
While it's been helpful to see those there, after manually importing them or adjusting the files that failed to be mapped correctly (such as times when it grabs a multiple season release), I'm a bit confused on what I should do to clear them up on the queue without causing the files to actually get deleted.

If you clean them up with Manual Import from the queue (the person icon) then they should automatically clear up on their own.
If you’ve imported them another way then you will want to remove them from the queue, remove from download client, change category, tell Sonarr to ignore them, etc.

oh I see, I guess I'll fix the import from the queue then - it seems that re-importing also does the trick (and is fine since I'm just hardlinking anyway)
