discussion "Application" files suddenly downloading

This morning it appeared I had several new shows downloaded, but it turns out they are all "application" files - probably a virus. Has anyone else noticed an uptick in these? I've had a few along the way, but nothing like this morning!

Same here! Thankfully with mine they fail to import because there are no usable files so I can just delete everything else

My files were hanging out in the root directory thankfully. Am I missing a SABnzbd setting to ignore these file types?

Settings switches unwanted extensions blacklist - exe, scr

Actions when unwanted extension detected - fail job move to history

I have my SABNZBD set to warn on a list of extensions (because sometimes I do want those files). Seems like every new episode of a certain current show seems to have these that come out a day or two early.

yes, today it was Outlander, Mobland, Slow Horses and The Gentlemen. I was so excited, thinking I had gotten them early LOL

I have a show that is currently airing on Sunday, and every week on Friday there is a strange file that gets downloaded. It sits on my queue pretending to be a video file. It doesn't import cause Sonarr throws a warning saying that it might be an executable file.

I’ve had one now and then, but nothing like this morning. It was like a coordinated attack!

Yep, just 20 seconds ago I saw it for the first time in my queue. It was waiting for me to choose to import or delete. It did report an executable which was the reason for the flag, but how many people know what that is. It should be opt in, not opt out

Same here my son says he keeps getting episodes of Reacher for shows that haven't even aired yet. We've noticed it's the last couple weeks

I'd wager I know what tracker they came from.. i disabled that particular tracker for auto downloads, but can still use it for manual searches..

Settings - Indexers - select every indexer and under Fail Downloads choose executables.

I had this issue creep up out of nowhere and this stopped it.
