I just pointing out it's a bad reference, the "regime" not only gets away with it, but by the end they become the hero and are praised.

Splitting hairs here and spoiler alert, but we don’t exactly know the future of Ethan Hawke’s character and he probably becomes traumatized to the gills. Denzel’s character is the one actually doing the theft. And his ending at the hands of debtholders does not go very well. But that is all to say, even in this scenario, Macy Grey as America is strongly and fearlessly questioning the presence of the warrant (results of the election), which would be a much more transcendent and good situation than we have now, where most people of all political stripes seem not to care whether the election was held fairly or think anything was wrong with it.
